Lianne and her band, Ron Abel, Grant Geissman, Randy Landas and Tom Walsh, come to Catalina Jazz for one night only, with their “spectacular” (Times Square Chronicle) interpretations of the eclectic music of Dusty Springfield.
After the show’s success in NYC, Theater Pizzazz wrote: “The Windmills of My Mind’ exceeds ALL expectations” – a must-see musical window into the creative mind of ‘the blue-eyed soul singer’ of the 1960s and beyond.
Dobbs performs with “energetic assured joy… brilliantly expressive… captivating.” (SF Chronicle) all while having a very fast-working brain and “a voice that can cause more damage to a roof than a Florida hurricane” (TheaterPizzazz).
Hits like “A House is Not a Home”, “The Look of Love” and “Son of a Preacher Man” are made completely her own thanks to arrangements by renowned pianist and music director RON ABEL.
Audiences of “The Windmills of My Mind… For Dusty” will leave laughing more than they anticipated, well-armed with handy “brain hacks” to empower their own unique creativity.
LIANNE MARIE DOBBS has headlined and filled the rooms at 54Below, Feinstein’s at the Nikko, Feinstein’s at Hotel Carmichael, Blue Strawberry, 54Below and The Green Room 42. She has also soloed with the San Francisco Symphony in an evening of Gershwin and toured the country performing leading roles in productions of Man of La Mancha, Les Misérables, Always… Patsy Cline, and Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies and just understudied Broadway’s Julia Murney in an acclaimed production of Sondheim’s A Little Night Music for the summer. Some may recognize Lianne from The Equalizer, Law & Order, FBI, and The Gilded Age. In 2020, BroadwayWorld named her as one of the Best Vocalists of the Decade and in 2022 listed her solo “Why CAN’T a Woman…?” at 54Below as a Top Cabaret Highlight of the Year.
